Getting started
Install SiteRemora
Add the app to your Shopify store, choose the theme to watch, and pick a plan. Setup takes about a minute.
Add the app from the Shopify App Store
Get SiteRemora on the Shopify App StoreInstall it on your store in a few clicks.- Open SiteRemora on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
- Shopify lists the permissions SiteRemora asks for. Review them and approve.
- SiteRemora opens inside your Shopify admin, under Apps.
What the permissions are for
SiteRemora asks for what it needs to scan your storefront and write fixes. It asks for nothing about your customers or orders.
| Permission | What SiteRemora does with it |
|---|---|
| Read and write themes | Lists your themes, traces each issue to its line, and writes the code fixes you apply |
| Read and write products | Finds the images behind an issue and writes the alt text you approve |
| Read content | Finds your published pages, blogs and articles to scan |
| Edit online store pages (optional) | Fixes problems inside the text of a page. You're asked the first time you apply one |
Setup
Setup takes three or four short steps.
- Welcome. Click Get Started.
- Theme. Choose the theme to watch. Your published theme is selected for you, and most stores keep it.
- Storefront password. This step appears only when your store's password page is on. Save the password and every scan can open your storefront, the automatic ones included. You can also skip it and add it later in Settings. See Password-protected stores.
- Plan. Shore is free and selected for you. Reef and Deep Sea open Shopify's approval page, and the charge appears on your Shopify invoice. If an agency gave you a partner code, enter it under Working with an agency? first.
Setup ends on the Scan page.
Tip
On Reef and Deep Sea, your first scan starts on its own shortly after setup. You can also start one right away.
