Staying on top of it
Automatic rescans
How Reef and Deep Sea keep checking your store as it changes, without you starting a scan.
What each plan does
| Plan | Automatic rescans |
|---|---|
| Shore | None. You start each scan, up to 3 in any 7 days |
| Reef | A full rescan every day |
| Deep Sea | A full rescan every day, plus a focused rescan after your theme or products change |
Automatic rescans come on top of the scans you start yourself.
What sets off a rescan on Deep Sea
- Theme edits, in the code editor or the theme editor.
- Publishing a theme.
- Product changes a shopper would see, such as a new image, title or description. Changes they wouldn't, like inventory counts, are skipped.
A rescan starts once your changes settle, usually within the hour. A burst of edits becomes one rescan. Collections, pages and blog posts are picked up by the daily rescan.
What a focused rescan checks
After a theme change, it checks a sample of pages from across the store, plus any products that changed. After a product change, it checks just those products.
The results merge into your full results. Pages it checked are updated, and the rest keep their results from the last full rescan. The line under your score then reads A change scan checked N pages.
What you'll hear about it
Automatic rescans send no email of their own. What they find shows up in the app and in your Sunday summary.
