Name, Role, Value
Every button, link, field and custom widget announces what it is, what it is called and its state.
Who it affects
A screen reader can only say what the code tells it. An unnamed button is announced as "button", and a size picker that doesn't report its state never says which size is chosen.
What a scan checks
- Buttons, selects and widgets with no name, invalid roles, focusable elements hidden from assistive tech, and variant options that don't say whether they are selected.
How it gets fixed
- Controls are named from your theme's own words or the record they point to, roles are corrected, and each option says whether it is selected from the same condition your theme uses to show it.
